The First Scrutiny
This Sunday, March 8, we will have the first of the Three Scrutinies. At this Rite we ask all of our OCIA participants to once again join us at the 8:00AM Mass. Please invite your sponsor to attend as well. There will be pews marked off at the front left of church, similar to what we did for the Rite of Acceptance. Please arrive no later than 7:45AM. You can find the form that we will be using here.
What is OCIA?
OCIA (formerly RCIA) stands for Order of Christian Initiation for Adults. OCIA is the normal process by which non-Catholics can enter the Catholic Church. However, OCIA classes are open to anyone, Catholic and non-Catholic alike, wishing to learn more about the Catholic faith.
When Are OCIA Classes Held?
OCIA classes are held on Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:30AM in Holtman Hall. Classes for the 2024-25 liturgical year will start on Sunday, September 8.

How Can I Register for OCIA Classes?
There is no need to sign up for OCIA class in advance. Just show up for class on Sunday, September 14.
You will be asked to fill out an OCIA participant form at that time. This is an online form. You can find it here:
All classes will be held in Holtman Hall unless otherwise stated.
Will OCIA Classes be Streamed?
We encourage all participants to attend all scheduled classes in Holtmann Hall if possible. But streaming is available if you need to miss a class, or if your situation prohibits you from attending in person.

OCIA To-Do List
If you are in the OCIA program, we ask that you attend all posted classes. If you are unable to attend for some reason, please watch the recording on our YouTube channel.
In addition, check out our OCIA Checklist detailing things we will need you to do, specifically:
- Fill out the OCIA Participant form
- Select a sponsor
- You sponsor must sign a Sponsor Covenant Form
- Provide a copy of your baptismal record (if you have already been baptized)
- Choose your saint name
